Jurassic Coaster app for iPhone and iPad

This app is a commentary to accompany Firsts Jurassic Coaster bus services that runs along the Jurassic Coast world heritage site. The Jurassic Coast is a treasure trove of fossils and the route to get there has been described as one of the most picturesque for British seaside scenery in the UK. There is no better way for the whole family to see this than on the bus when everyone can look out of the windows.

Five routes are covered: the X51 between Axminster and Dorchester, the X52 between Exeter and Bridport, the X53 between Axminster and Weymouth, the X54 between Poole and Weymouth and the 501 Open Top Service between Weymouth and Portland.

This app can be used to research the routes before you catch the bus or as a live commentary, triggered by GPS coordinates, which will show appropriate content as you travel on the bus along the route.

Content in this free app is always being updated with special offers for the attractions along the route - redeemed by simply presenting a valid bus ticket.

The app is GPS-enabled, giving you the option to be shown content automatically as you travel along the bus route.

The app also uses GPS to determine your location when the app is running in the background. It will trigger notifications when you are close to points of interest. We have used GPS in a power-efficient way, however as with all apps that use location, please note that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

There is a new user setting: Audio Autoplay. If this is on, when an audio content is opened it will start playing automatically.

If the app goes onto the background whilst an audio item is playing, it will continue playing and allow you to control play/pause using the phones playback controls.
